Job Responsibilities:
Research Associates are entry-level analysts who form the project team foundation for client engagements. They are responsible for a wide range of activities from data acquisition to analysis and summarization for client presentations.
This position will:
With clear guidance, develop search strategy to identify and acquire necessary project data
Build datasets for project-specific modeling
Demonstrate expertise in either quantitative or qualitative analysis
Identify meaningful findings and insights from their analysis
Prepare drafts of analytic findings and conclusions in assigned project areas
Contribute to formulation of recommendations and development of client presentation material
Work both independently and as part of a project team to deliver high quality, error-free work in an efficient manner
Report to Partners and Managing Consultants during the course of an engagement
Work simultaneously on multiple client engagements
Illustrative data modeling/statistical analyses include linear and non-linear regression analyses; cluster analyses; econometric modeling; hypothesis testing; experimental design; and forecasting.
Typical deliverables include customer targeting; customer segmentation; forecasting; promotional response measurement; resource allocation; and discovering specific marketplace insights.
Job Requirements:
Candidates should have a strong academic record with a degree in statistics, economics, operations research, finance, or related quantitative field
Strong analytic and quantitative reasoning and enjoy problem solving
Relevant work experience as a teaching or research assistant while pursuing a degree or during summer internships is preferred
Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills
They must be able to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing, work well on teams demonstrating leadership qualities, and handle multiple commitments and frequent deadlines
The ideal candidate would have a genuine passion for applying innovative analytics to solve real-world business problems
Computer literacy is a must; proficiency in MS Office products and specifically developing Excel-based spreadsheets with macros and visual basic
Experience with statistical packages, e.g. SPSS, SAS, or STATA is highly desired
