Consulting Associate
Job Responsibilities:
Consulting Associates are responsible for hands-on execution and delivery of analytical solutions ranging from designing proprietary market research surveys, leading data analysis and modeling initiatives, to creating client presentations. This position will:
- Identify, acquire and access secondary market data
- Extract out and reformat the data needed for statistical modeling
- Help devise and execute the project analytic plan
- Demonstrate expertise in either quantitative or qualitative analysis
- Identify meaningful findings and insights from their analysis
- Prepare drafts of conclusions and contribute to formulation of recommendations in assigned project areas
- Work both independently and part of a project team to deliver high quality, error-free work in an efficient manner
- Report to Partners and Managing Consultants during the course of an engagement
- Work simultaneously on multiple client engagements.
Illustrative data modeling/statistical analyses include linear and non-linear regression analyses; cluster analyses; econometric modeling; hypothesis testing; experimental design; and forecasting.
Typical deliverables include customer targeting; customer segmentation; forecasting; promotional response measurement; resource allocation; and discovering specific marketplace insights.
Job Requirements:
- Candidates should have a strong academic record with an advanced degree in statistics, economics, operations research, finance, or related quantitative field
- Strong analytic and quantitative reasoning and enjoy problem solving
- A minimum of two to three years of work experience in a leading pharmaceutical or biotech firm, a healthcare client services company or top tier consulting company is preferred
- Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills
- They must be able to communicate complex ideas effectively (both verbally and in writing), work well on teams demonstrating leadership qualities, and handle multiple commitments and frequent deadlines
- The ideal candidate would have a genuine passion for applying innovative analytics to solve real-world business problems
- Expertise with statistical packages, e.g. SPSS or SAS or STATA, as well as SQL capability is required
- Proficiency in MS Office products and in developing Excel-based spreadsheets with macros and visual basic
